This envisioned episode of the Arabic Lettering Workshop at Tasmeem Doha 2024’s “Under Construction”, is an exercise in experimental reinterpreting of the rich heritage of Arabic calligraphy and its connection to creative expression.
Participants will engage in the creation of an Arabic lettering composition, drawing inspiration from the festival’s main theme “under construction” and will infuse their personal perspectives and opinions into the creative process. Participants will gain insights into the fundamental elements that characterize Arabic script and its letterforms, including contrast, weight, proportions, and more, resulting in a finished lettering piece.
