- Location: Room 281, VCUarts Qatar
- Upon Registration Only
This workshop is taught by the four designers of the Morocco Design Exchange organized by Qatar Museums. It will explore the traditional Moroccan craft of wood painting. Wood paintings of intricate Moroccan patterns are hand-painted in some of Morocco’s grandest architecture, such as the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca.
Having learned the technique on their exchange to Morocco, the four designers will introduce participants to methods taught to them by a master artisan in Fes.
Participants will have the opportunity to go through the required steps and paint a Moroccan pattern on a wooden board. Each participant will create their own board which they can take with them at the end of the session.
The workshop is repeated on March 4, 2024, 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM.
